Edward B. SURBER a former resident of Waveland died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette on Jan 24, 1946. Ed, as he was known around town resided in Waveland during the early 1920s and moved to Lafayette in 1927. Mr. Surber was an employee of the Ford Motor Company of Detroit until he became ill in November of 1944. After an illness of several months, he was taken to the hospital where he passed away. His death was caused by a stroke of paralysis. Edward B. Surber was born 1886 in Pulaski Co KY and came to Indiana about 1900. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Minnie HALE to which union 3 children were born: Mrs. James Gilliland of Lafayette; Mrs. Wayne Simms of Waveland and a son who died in infancy. The funeral was held in Lafayette Monday Jan 28 and burial took place there. Surviving are the widow and the two daughters and a host of friends to mourn his passing. He will long be remembered in Waveland for his many kindnesses and words of cheer which he was ever ready to extend to his fellow man.
